So I’m really struggling with finding a topic for the common app essay. I was thinking about responding to the propmt about failure. Basically, my essay would be about how I realized that I wasn’t really taking advantage of all of the opportunities that I had by going the private school that I go to after receiving a poor grade in a class that I could have done well in, but didn’t really try. As a result, I put more effort into my school work, took harder classes/ more risks and became more involved in my school etc. Does this seem like a good essay topic if it were well executed?
I would try to think of something more interesting. Seems like a topic that has been done time and time again even if well-executed.
