Essay Topic Idea

Is writing an essay about how when I was younger many of my friends couldn’t/wouldn’t go to my birthday party because my birthday often lined up with the super bowl a good idea? Assuming I spun it to relate to me deeper

How does this connect to who you are as a person? At the moment this seems very surface level and I have a hard time imagining it turning into something extremely substantive

@shawnspencer mostly right now I’m just trying to think of things unique to me, but I’m sure I can find something better to write about

Your essay should be about your growth following your actions. You behaved differently after an event/learning than you did before it.
Writing about having kids not come to your party is like writing about a broken arm. Bones heal on their own. Kids came to parties when you held them on different days (actions completely independent of anything you did).

But what do you write about? About how we’ve improved in high school and how we continue to do so in college?

Something to think about: What about that topic will make them say, “We want this person on campus”?

Came across this great article on Forbes about college essays. It is really an eyeopener. This should help you in coming up with interesting ideas for essay http://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2012/11/19/what-should-i-write-my-college-essays-about/#6a590e122ed0

I can definitely say there are some better ideas. Try to find something that will show your personality. Don’t forget to be creative.
