I was wondering, for the "Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it." prompt, should i write about my experiences move to the U.S. when i was 10 fro China or is that too cliche?

Remember that you need to write about how it has affected you today.
I’m sure it’s a common topic but you don’t need to write it in a cliche way.

You could certainly write about it if something about the transition really resonates with you. As in, there are some critical details - not just the fact that you moved - that would make for a compelling and personal story. You may need to do some compare-and-contrasting and extend your piece chronologically (from age 8 to now, for example).

Overall, you want to avoid making it ‘just another immigration story’. Don’t try too hard to extend your experiences onto others in your situation. There’s gotta be something special about it to you.
