Hello, I'm new here. I am now working on my college application essay and I had some questions. I have a history of serious mental illness and I was wondering if that would be a good topic to pick. At age 14 I was hospitialized for a short time and was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder, Paranoid Personality Disorder, Major Depression, OCD, and severe psychosis. Now I'm 18 and I feel that I've made a complete recovery after a lot of work. I think that this is a major thing that's made me a stronger person. An idea I have now is to write about my epierence with these problems from 14 to now for my essay. Is this a good essay topic? I would appreciate any opinions at all. Thanks.

That would certainly be a unique essay topic, and a good one providing you answer the right question. =P

Man, I'd say talk about all of them but that's too much for one essay. Pick the one that you can expand on the most, the one you can elaborate with anecdotes and other stuff. The one that's affected you the most though I'd say they all did. =)
