essay topic

well, my stats are mediocre at best... so the essay is probably the pivotal deciding factor to my acceptance/denial.

if i write about something completely arbitrary like how i have a unmarked can of soup in the back of my pantry (dont steal my idea, PLEASE!) and i dont know whether to open it or not, will they think i'm crazy? from my point of view and what my peers think, uChi is one of those schools who will praise this kind of essay....

any imput is good! thanks!

Make sure its a good essay!

what prompt will that respond to?

i have a question:

people keep telling me that it is important for my uchic essay to be "quirky and funny". do the essays really need to be extremely humorous? can it be about a serious topic?

thanks

well, i wrote about soup (and even then its still probably generic)

but chicago is already a very serious school, as in everyone is a nerd. if you took calc bc in high school, you're probably considered a "bad kid" since everyone else took it sometime before high school.

the essay basically must be one of those out of nowhere type things like, "what i ate for breakfast today" or something arbitrary like that
