Essay topics-- #5 a bad idea?

Do they prefer that I choose one of the other topics? Because I have a decent idea for #5 that I would enjoy writing about while the other topics don't inspire me as much. Anyways, with my so-so stats, I should take a risk if I want to stand out, right?

What do you guys think? Too risky or a good idea?

I think as long as 5 follows the uncommon format, it's okay.

What you SHOULDN'T do is take a prompt from another college's application that you really liked and use it in 5... then that just looks really cheap and defeats the purpose of the question.

Just be very sure of your question

JBPH, I love your sn ;)

Are we supposed to include the actual question in our answer, or just jump straight into the essay?

Definitely include the question. At the top of the essay. And I emailed the associate dean, and in his words

"we think option 5 is just fine. otherwise, we would not include it in our application."

Thanks GuitarManARS!

And thanks for the info. My question is not "Tell us something about yourself." It's more like #2, actually. I'm going to do #5 just because I'll do my best work that way.
