Essay topics for Common App

For the Common App essay I am lost on what to write about. I have 3 ideas, if someone could tell me my best idea that would be great!

1) write about my internship in a foreign government, meetings about the gaza conflict and social welfare that I participated in

2) track- dedicated and good at it- maybe write about a race- kinda cliche though?

3) community service with special needs children

Kinda leaning on number 1 because of the uniqueness, but please share your opinion?

Anybody, please?

Write all three and develop all three and see which one stands out the most. At least spend a week on each topic.

I also like number 1. Whatever you do, emphasize your passion, energy, and future promise. Also, obviously you don’t want praise yourself/ castigate others (sounds like common sense but I’ve seen it done recently by some CC users). Good luck! :)

will you read my common app essay?

Thanks! And sure, PM it to me, I’m reading laxbros in a bit and I’ll do urs after

Sweet, thanks!

I’ll get to it in like 5 mins, sorry it took so long

And anyone else? Thanks!

It depends on the spin you can put on each; which you can “show” rather than “tell”; and which you think gives the best snippet of who you are. Most of the essays I’ve wound up submitting (originally and then again for transfer) wound up being the second or third entirely different essay that I’d written for one prompt.

If you’d like I can read anything over when you’re done.

Sounds good, patriotsfan1! Thank you:)

To be honest, First one seems rare among the pool so it might stand out easily, 2 and 3 are a little cliche, but if you can relate yourself more with the latter two and write a great essay they are also good choice.

1 sounds awesome. Wherever you apply, some other person has run track or worked with kids. But yours is unique.

And don’t be afraid to combine! My final one touched on middle school dances, being really tall, community service, and piggyback rides.
