essay typos

I just sent in my application today and I realized I made some mistakes that I forgot to correct after I mailed it out. I've already checked it over hundreds of times before. There were some easy grammar mistakes and tense mistakes. How concerned should I be? Is there anything I can do now? Thanks for the responses.

please help!

that's a toughy... I honestly don't think there's anything you could do now.. sorry

I think you'll be fine. It seems from articles, books etc, that most adcoms spend about 15-20 minutes on an app. They read the essay through and are looking for a general impression of you, they aren't going to scrutinize every little word. Relax and rejoice that it's done.

I would not do it on purpose, but it might actually help. Too many essays have become highly polished and look like they were written by a team. If they do notice the errors, at least they will know it is your essay.

Thanks guys. That's actually really comforting. I was thinking about calling the admissions office on Monday to ask if I can send my corrected essay but.... i don't know.

As long as you get your idea across to the admissions officers, you should be fine.
