Essay: use would or will?

Hey everyone,

So I'm working on the short answer in the supplement right now and I'm not sure if I should be saying "I would" (i.e. I would study this) or "I will". They ask the questions with how you WILL engage academically but I feel rather presumptuous using "I will" as it makes it sound like I'm certain I'll get in.

Opinions would be greatly appreciated (:

The question says how will you engage academically in your specific school.

I would use will if your writing it as an incoming freshman or maybe write the essay as if you are a year into your studies already. I am not an expert. I am just someone trying to help

You can pull off the essay saying I will without sounding over confident/cocky

Be Blessed!

I agree with collegeboundJon. If it specifically says “will” in the question, than I have a feeling it wants you to write “will” instead of “would.”
