Good evening for everybody! I have a common question :), I can't find topic for essay at Harvard admission for undergraduate. Where Can I find topics?

At least last year, the Harvard supplement had one optional essay that was basically open ended.

https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Docs/DownloadForms/2013/EssayAnnouncementFinal.pdf

Given the Common App changed their essays prompts for 2013-2014, Harvard may add an essay for next year – possibly one asking you to write something about an extracurricular activity, as that essay has been deleted from the Common App – but it’s too early to tell. You should check back with the Common App after August 1st to see what has changed for next year.

Is it just the essay prompts that are changing for the common app or is the whole format going to change as well?

^^ In addition to the essay prompt changes, students will no longer be allowed to upload a document, such as a resume, in either the Additional Information Section or Essay Section. A student’s essay must be typed into a text-box that will have character restrictions. Other than that, the format is supposed to remain the same.

Thanks a lot guys! But i have question again, so for Harvard college, I need write essay in application ( applicational essay) and optional essay( on a paper or Word.doc)? And all this staff( I mean topics) will be creating in August 1?

No! For Harvard, which accepts the Common Application, you will need to write on one of five topics provided in the link in post #3. The Common Application will close at the end of June and then re-open for 2013-2014 applications on August 1st.

You need to WAIT until August 1st and check back in with the Common Application (https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx) to see what optional essay topics, if any, Harvard requires on their supplement.

None of this requires anything as a word.doc. And you don’t submit anything on paper; you do it electronically for both the Common Application and Harvard’s Supplement.

Thanks a lot !
