<p>I am under the character limit for all of the short essays, but they still don't fit properly in the preview...</p>

<p>The "real" limit isn't the word count - it's the word box, because they just print the PDF. I had the same problem, because I split up my roommate essay into several paragraphs. See if you can eliminate line breaks.</p>
<p>Yeah. The same thing happened to me. Just try to cut some unimportant stuff out like sentences that are there to fill in space. And keep checking to make sure it really fits because thats all they get at the admissions office.</p>
