Essays for CommonApp & Supplements

Hey. Rising senior here who is confused about the Common App essays and the essays on the college's supplement. If you use the CommonApp and write its essay then do you also have to write the essay the college (i.e Princeton) has on its supplement? Or can just pick which essay-the CommonApp one or the school's supplement one?

Thanks in advance

You have to do the common app essay for every college participating in the common app, with the supplements, unless the essays are denoted as optional you must do them, and for Princeton, if I'm not mistaken you have to do two of five. Hey by the way did they change, I remember when I did last year I did one about my favorite quote and the other was about the motto of the school or something like that and you write the response.

Thanks for the info. The essays don't seem to have changed much. You still have quotes but now you pick 1 out of the 3 to write about. Or there is the typical, boring "most significant person" essay.

Oh wow, can't believe they dropped one, hmmm, guess that's how it goes, though i still remember how painful the application was for me, granted I was doing it at 2 in the morning in mid-December, but oh well, good luck with everything, I'm sure you'll be fine, especially since you're starting so early.
