I’m going to apply for a school and I have to write six 200 words essays. What does the admissions office care the most about these essays? Word choice, writing style, what you wrote about/how impressive the experience you wrote about was…?
Here are some topics I have no idea how to write:
- "Have you participated in any activities that served other? Why did you participate?" The truth is, I don't think I haven't. Should I lie? Should I make it up? Should I do something that serves others until the application deadline and write about it? Should I think of a time I helped someone and exaggerate it?
“What is the most significant challenge you’ve overcome? How did you overcome it?”
Would it be fine to write about cutting all ties with a neglecting parent? Or does that show weakness?
Any examples?
“Can you describe a time when something you did was criticized? Tell us more about how you handled the situation.”
I’ve definitely been criticized before but sadly, I’m the type of person who would yell at the one criticizing me… Should I write about this, or just lie?
