ESSAYS: personal examples? 2 or 3 examples?

After reading "How to write a 12 essay in 10 days", I compiled and organized several different examples that I can use for various prompts. I can usually think of about 2 examples for the prompt but can't think of a third one, and I end up wasting up time. What do you guys think about doing 2 literary/historical/etc examples and 1 personal example? And is it possible to get a 12 with only 2 examples? What if it's 1 literary/historical/etc example and 1 personal one?

Good luck on the SAT tomorrow, everybody :)

I almost always do that. I don’t think it hurts your essay score.

Personally, I haven’t had time to write in-depth on more than two examples. I think you should be fine, as I got an 8* for only writing about two examples.

*I didn’t finish the essay, but I’m sure the 8 would have been a 10 at the least if I had.
