Essays & Recommendations

Hey everyone!
Well now that I have an idea of which college/university I have a chance at, I'm getting ready to apply. (Even though you can't apply until two months from now) I need help...out of all of these, which ones need teacher recommendations/essays? And is there anything else I need? I can't really find it on their websites. Thanks~

Univ of Wisconsin
Michigan State Univ
Univ of Michigan Ann Arbor
Purdue
Univ of Illinois @ Chicago
Univ of Illinois @ Urbana Champaign
Northern Illinois University
Washington Univ in St. Louis
Northwestern
Penn State
Indiana Univ
Ohio Univ

...can someone at least tell me how will I know I need teacher recommendation letters and essays?

email the admissions offices. they'd be the ones who know for sure and they like to see interest anyway.

Indiana doesn't need either. You just fill in contact info online, send in the application with the fee (You can even request a fee waiver if you have financial need.). Then take the additional form and give it to your GC, let them attach your test scores and your transcript. The school will send the form. Real easy took about 2 minutes and was avaliable in early August I believe. Was the first application I did because it took no effort, and I got my acceptance in September/October with a scholarship.

Michigan requires 3 essays, 1-2 teacher recommendations, and a counselor recommendation. Michigan State requires a "Personal Statement" (essay). Wisconsin requires a essay, but I STRONGLY recommend that you give them 1-2 teacher recommendations, as a lot of people who don't send recommendations get postponed, then accepted. Penn State required a Personal Statement, Illinois-UC had a bunch of little things, I didn't finish either of their applications. Ohio U doesn't require anything like Indiana, and they have automatic scholarships based on your test scores (look at the Gateway chart).

alrite thanks ~
