<p>Are there no essays to write? Im applying to LAS, and it doesnt seem to have any essay prompts. My school doesnt rank, so I guess I can't do the RAI thing either.</p>
<p>Unless things have changed recently, the regular application does not require any essays, at least for US freshman applicants, even if your HS does not rank. To estimate your chances, you can try to approximate your RAI by plugging in “best guess” rank in the RAI calculator. For students who are concerned that they are (or may be) at the borderline, you may apply for an individual review, in which case you would submit an essay. </p>
<p>This is based on my understanding of how the process worked in recent years. I always suggest that each candidate carefully review the website, and call or email the Iowa Admissions Office if you have any questions. The Iowa administration is very responsive, and it is better for you to be safe than sorry on something as important as your college applications.</p>
