Im struggling on the LSA academic interests essay (for pre-business/economics). I already wrote the PA Ross one and I said all the reasons why I wanted to do business in that one. Can anyone explain how they avoided being redundant??

You don't write your LSA essay about. Focus on why you like economics, not business. Since Ross has a 6% acceptance rate for PA, LSA could very well say : This kid obviously only wants LSA to get into Ross, since the PA chances for ross are so low, we will reject him in favor of a weaker candidate who has expressed a genuine interest in LSA.

Thanks 1MX, I know what your saying. But to be honest i think i have a solid shot at Ross (Upper 2200's SATS, 4.0, and lots of business EC's, basically perfect SAT 2's) although i understand that its a reach for everyone. I'm hoping that this essay can improve my chances of gettting into Ross (does anyone know if Ross reads all ur essays or just the Ross one?). Can anyone else offer some help? Im really stuck lol.

Normally, they only read the Ross one, which is why overlap is unnecessary.
I must add this though: Unfortunately, my brother, a PA, tells me that business ECs are huge in admissions, which makes me skeptical on how well Ross screens the applicants. ECs certainly show an interest in business, but any job recruiter will tell you they don't hold a thumb against true displays of entrepreneurship.

I have the same question..... so what's the verdict? Similar things for both or different? If I do LSA I'll probably be Pre-Bus. anyway so I'm confused as well

This is really stupid, but what is Ross Pre-Admit? I'm obviously not applying for it, but I'm just curious.

You write an essay for Ross (business school) and you can get accepted early for it, basically....
