we have to complete the common app essay, in addition to the required short essays and possible an optional essay?

thanks

you need to complete the entire common application along with tufts' supplement to the common application

so yes, you are correct

Two words: don't procrastinate.

heh, you would not believe how rushed I was to finish my essays for the ED deadline... as stressful as that week was, I'm glad I didn't delay it until EDII

Two words: hysterical reply.

And I'll add that your supplemental writing needs to be distinct from what's in your common app. Even if you feel your common app essays already answers one of the questions, you shouldn't just copy and paste; find a new way to answer the question.

I applied to Tufts on a whim and wrote all of the essays in one day. They were my best essays, and reflected my personality the best. Just make sure you put your best effort into the essays.

The more essays I wrote for tufts, the more I started to like the school (I didn't know that much about tufts in december)..anyone else experience this?

I think the optional essay should be something creative...and doesn't necessarily have to follow the standard essay format. I'm not sure what this year's optional topics are though...
