I know EST is very competitve so if I dont get in, are there local ambulance companies I can join in st.louis? Of course I would rather get into EST, but I was just thinking of back up plans cause I dont want my license to go to waste if I dont get in.
Thanks

It’s nice that you already have your license. That will definitely be a plus on your application to EST (Note: I wasn’t a part of EST but I know many people in it). Know that EST is a huge time commitment and I would strongly recommend against it if you’re a pre-med (In fact, I believe there is somewhat of an “anti-pre-med” sentiment among the EST folks who believe many premeds are just trying to pad their applications to medical school - many premeds do make it in though) It’s also extremely difficult to find your groove first semester and get good grades with such a large time commitment in EST. That being said, there are some that do EST who end up with good grades that semester (I just think its an unnecessary risk and IMO it doesn’t put a large boost in medical school applications)

I probably can’t help you too much with the job search part of your post. Barnes Jewish Hospital, Forest Park Medical Center, and Saint Louis University Hospital would be the closest hospitals you could look at with the first and last one being accessible by metro.
