I'm scheduling an interview for EST (Emergency Support Team; basically EMT training), but it is of course highly selective with at least 2 rounds of interviews. So does anyone have any advice and things to prepare for such as, dress code, questions to expect, etc.?

Also, do the people interviewing you read your essays? If so, will they ask you questions based on it?

Thanks.

DarkKnight: do you have any experience as an EMT? When are the interviews?

Oops. My earlier post looks snarky. Sorry, that wasn’t my intention! I was thinking that the interviewer would ask you if you had any experience, like at a camp, where someone got hurt. They might also ask if you’ve been in a crisis situation and what did you do. They’d probably ask why you’d be interested in this program.

Maybe those interviews are all done, but good luck if they’re still going on.

thanks. My interview’s on the 22nd. I’ve never a had EMT training or a crisis situation, but I described in my essays that I know it will likely to occur at some point and I’m determined to prepare myself to save someone when that time comes.

Also, EST requires people to maintain their cool in extreme situations, and that is something I want to train myself to do.
