Establishing residency (deceased father / overseas mother)

Hi guys, i’m planning to move to California this year to attend a Cal CC then transfer to one of the UC campuses in a year or two, i understand that UC rules are very strict regarding establishing residency for tuition purposes, but i’ll be financially independent and my mother is neither a citizen nor lives in the US and my father is deceased, so wat are my chanes ?

I hope this has some answers for you. You can be sure the policy is the same for all state schools UCLA Registrar’s Office: Residence for Tuition Purposes–Establishing Residence

Also consider some of the private colleges, they often have private tuition funds, and it can be cheaper and better than the UCs.

Good luck to you.

I’ve read the UCLA residency page before but i read here in different threads that they make it almost impossible to establish residency if you are under 24, so i’m not sure how it gonna work for my situation
thanks anyways :)
