Due to the outrageously high cost of attending IU out of state, just wondering if anyone has experience establishing Indiana residency? Plus' and minus' ??
I know it is not an option for Freshman year but wondering if it's possible for Sophomore year?

Here is all the info you need…[Residency Information: Office of the Registrar: Indiana University Bloomington](http://registrar.indiana.edu/resiinfo.shtml)

This thread goes over the this question pretty completely.

For the VAST majority of students, once you are classified as a resident or non-resident, you will retain that classification for your entire 4 years. There are a few, very specific, exceptions. The thread above details a few of those exceptions–age, length of residency in the state for purposes other than education, etc. Again, for the majority of students, the answer is No.
