I got 2 schools that need me to send in that CSS thing by 2/2 (which is tomorrow), but I just realize that I won’t be able to get the missing documents I needed even by tomorrow. So it seem like I will need to do some careful estimations on that CSS thing. So my question is, is it possible to submit one CSS (and FAFSA) right now using estimated values to those 2 schools that need it by tomorrow, and then file another one separately for the other schools after I get all my documents? And also, what would happen, or more precisely, what should I do if my estimations ended up way off from the actual values? This CSS thing is really killing me.
Yes you can. Get your deadline schools in now.
Why would your estimates be way off? You should have your final pay stub from 2014 which will contain YTD information. But if your estimate is way off, your estimated package may be too.
They know it is an estimate. Submit it by the deadline and they’ll confirm data later either with the CSS doc system or sending 2014 returns and W-2s to the school directly. Just don’t miss the deadline.
