Ethernet Cable?? A tiny question.

Hello guys,

For those of you living in dorms, how long of an Ethernet cable do you need to bring?

they say 25' but it may be too long. i would say at least 15...

depends what housing you're in...

Units 1, 2 have their jacks right next to desks so 15' works out for most ppl

Unit 3 has its jacks in the most inconvenient location... the far corner of the room farthest from where desks/window are. 15' is fine for Unit 3... you'll just have the cables running thru the middle of the rom... if you want cables hidden away along the wall 25' works well.

What about for Foothill? How long of a cable should I need?

Bowles have crappy ethernet cable locations, so Bowlesmen will need long ethernet cables. Bowles does not have rescomp wireless

yeh 15 is more than enough for units.
no clue about foothill i need to know too >_<

5-10ft is good for foothill

I got a 25' Ethernet cable here for about 6 bucks. Works great! Fast shipping too.

^ yea.. i got mine for like 4 bucks from ebay lol

im pretty sure we can just set up a wireless network right?

Yes. You just have to provide your own router.

of course. haha i'm not like my friend
he thought that wireless internet came out of the sky and into his laptop so he could use it anywhere..

well yes and no. if you subscribe to that kind of service, you literally do get internet everywhere.
