Is Brandeis ethnically and racially diverse? I know that it originally was founded by Jewish philanthropy and most of the graduates I know are Jewish. Can anyone comment on the experience of Asians and Asian/Americans? Do they feel like they fit into the larger community? Thanks.

Okay, I am of Asian descent and I feel like there is a lot of diversity, although more certainly never hurts. There are PLENTY of Asians. Plenty. There are cultural clubs you can get involved with to meet people like you, and although over half the student body is Jewish I would say that everyone is open to people of different backgrounds except for maybe a few ridiculous orthodox kids but those are few and far between. My floor alone last year was SO diverse, people from all faiths, religions, and countries. Also I'm rooming in a suite with pretty much all non-Jews...maybe we just attract each other haha. I don't think you'll feel left out here.

Stain99,
How has your experience been at Brandeis, both educationally and socially? Do different minorities mix well there? Thanks.
