From what I have heard, and from my visit to UCSB I seemed to have gained the perception that the majority of the students are white. It is especially white, when compared to the other schools and UCs I have visited. In light of this, how does an ethnic student fit into the school?

People of various ethnicities as well as any group of people can definitely fit into UCSB. First of all, the student body at UCSB is overall very welcoming and accepting; people really do get along and mix with everyone. There are also a lot of various resources, clubs, activities, events, living communities in the dorms, fraternities/sororities that are focused on various diverse groups as well.

UCSB does seem to have more white people thatn the other UCs, but I’m used to being the token. If I wanted to surrounded by people of my own race I would’ve applied to HBCU. Instead I’m content with being with only 2% of my race.
Not that it matters anyway, when I visited the campus I saw interracial interaction.

& iski2d is right, there are a lot of different groups on campus. So it’s not like “minority” groups (whatever that might be) aren’t heard.
