So my mom was born in Somalia and my dad was born in India and grew up in Nigeria. I was born in the U.S, so would I be considered African? Thanks for the help
At the risk of being un-PC, if your Somalian-born mom and/or Indian-born dad is black, then yes. If they’re white or Asian, no. Where your dad grew up does not matter.
By black, do you mean skin color?
I mean the Webster’s definition:
I say yes, as Somalia is in the Horn of Africa. At the very least, you qualify as mixed or “two or more races/ethnicities”.
You’re half-Somalian/half-Indian? Then you’d be black/Asian
