Etraction of Molars

Your oral surgeon can most likely take much higher resolution X-rays and at a better angle than your dentist, and figure out what’s necessary.

I can attest to getting it done - one of my impacted ones had gotten really bad and could have caused me major troubles. And the longer you wait, the more embedded they get and more difficult to remove.

I was really nervous too, but I’ll say that it’s more scary than anything else. You have anaesthesia and vicodin to handle any and all pain, ice and ice cream to handle any swelling and soreness.

Like I said, it’s unpleasant, but really, you get to spend at least 3 or 4 days crashed on the couch eating ice cream, pudding, jello, etc. watching your favorite DVDs (make sure your parents understand this)

you can always PM me with more questions

somebody up there mentioned that it was sodium pentothal, and that it’s truth serum…well, obviously anything that makes you drowsy will make you a bit more talkative,…but what that’s really more famous for is the last ingredient in the lethal injection cocktail.

Mine really weren’t bad at all. My mother stopped letting me take my Lortabs after two days (because she’s CRAZY!) and I was taking Advil every four hours or so for the first week and a half or so, then twice a day (at 5:30 AM and 5:30 PM – not on purpose, that was just exactly when they’d start hurting; I would wake up from a deep sleep like clockwork at 5:30 and have to go take Advil) for a couple weeks past that. I didn’t swell up at all, which was great. I started eating regular food after a few days because I was tired of mushy foods…

The really annoying part is the sockets. They take FOREVER to grow over. I got mine out in August and they’re still a tiny bit open… I was getting food stuck in them FOREVER, which is a huge pain.

And getting knocked out is kind of fun. I don’t remember falling asleep at all, and waking up was trippy. haha
