ETS cancels plans to roll out a revised GRE, both in terms

of test content (note that some rolling changes may be made) and testing dates (switching from rolling, test center established dates, to fixed dates (31) at each year has been scrapped). Test Centers will administer the test as before.

The above is the link to the official news release. This is not an April Fool's prnak.

ETS recognized the access issues that fixed dates would cause absent the hoped for expansion in testing capacity; students should have no trouble scheduling a seat for testing.

Personally, I think ETS is to be commended for this; it is hard for a large organization to stop a major initiative in mid-stride.

Make sure your students and if you're a student, your associates are aware of this. It should remove some pressure folks were feeling regarding access and content changes.

Sincerely,

Thanks for posting this

Thanks for posting this. My junior son was planning to take it in July before the change. On the other hand, since he's such a huge procrastinator, maybe he was better off with that deadline.
