Evaluate a stressed jr's college list?

Oh, I definitely don't consider UCSD a safety, and I'm very aware that I could get rejected to every single college. Like previously stated, if that happens, I'll go to my local cc and transfer in 2 years--it'll save my family a lot of money, too. The thing is, I really don't like the idea of a safety. I want to go to a school that will challenge me in many ways, with a generally highly intelligent student body. I'm not saying that everyone at a lower end UC is stupid, or that everyone at Stanford is a genius, but I really don't think I would feel comfortable at a 'safety'. Like, I'm not willing to spend the same amount for, say, Riverside as I would for Cal especially because transferring within the UC system is supposedly really difficult.

Basically, I acknowledge that I don't have any safeties and I understand the risk, but I don't feel good about applying just for the sake of applying.

Oh yea, and it's a her :)

yea, you dont need to add any safety's then.... its highly unlikely youll need them, and if everything, and i meen everything goes wrong and you dont get in anywhere, and thats not likely to happen, then just go to cc and transfer to cal. but i imagine youll get in to at least a few of the schools, including a couple of your top ranked ones. Best of luck, i think your gonna be surprised at some of your high end acceptances, your stats are extremely good.

UCChris a 2310 is night and day vs. a 1360. Are you kidding? Your stats show nothing. My bet is the accept rate for a 4.0 2300+ at any cal is 90% or higher. I am surprised the accept rate for 1360s at Cal is that high to be honest (25%), at an Ivy it would be less than 5% with those scores.

slipper1234, the accept rate at what ivys? I highly doubt at cornell or dartmouth or brown applicants with 1360 old sat's and 4.17's would only have a 5% acceptance rate, Theres absolutely no way, where did you hear that?.... maybe at harvard yale and princeton that seems more accurate, but those are the ultra-elite, not really comparable to cal, ucla, ucsd. I also didnt see that the posters gpa ( 3.8-3.9) was unweighted, meaning he likely has a weighted gpa well over 4.0. That would likely make the top tier uc's either safe matches or safetys, although i have a tough tiime calling berkeley a safety for anyone, do to the randomness of their admissions. If you know top uc's you know the randomness of their admissions. I also posted those stats (uc berkeley's ucla's and ucsd's) and their official links to refute another posters claimed different stats about those schools, and yes my stats did disprove those numbers, which was the their original purpose.
