Evaluate Me Please

Hey guys,

I'm currently a sophomore in high school and I would appreciate it if you guys could read the information below (ALL OF IT please, before you say anything).

I am planning on pursuing a dual BA/MD Medical program and, obviously, would therefore like to study medicine.

Some of the colleges that seem nice to me are Case Northwestern, Duke, NEOUCOM (which is a sort of a medical school group in Ohio- I've heard it's pretty difficult to get into), or any other respectable medical school.

My GPA will be around a 4.25- 4.45 by the time I apply to colleges.

My best practice SAT score was around a 2000 and I'm hoping to end up with around a 2200.

My ACT score will definitely be 32+ by the time I apply to college.

Here's one of my most important concerns: right now, my extracurriculars are Science Olympiad and Speech and Debate. I have volunteered at a library over the last 2 summers for a total of 55 hours. I have recently applied for volunteering at a hospital and will be volunteering there for the next 2 years for at least 100 hours. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT I COULD DO TO IMPROVE THIS ACTIVITY/ CLUB PORTION OF MY RESUME WOULD BE GREAT!

One final question: do colleges care what your unweighted GPA is? If my weighted GPA ends up being a 4.40 and my unweighted a 3.75 or 3.85, will that be bad? Or will they not care about my unweighted?

Sorry- I realize it's a really long post, but any feedback would be great!

You should try to get an internship.

Like lssd said, an internship could be good, hopefully in a medical field. I would try to increase your hours at the hospital, since 100 hours over 2 years isn't too much - it's less than an hour a week. Also, is there anything you can do to round yourself out a little? Don't kill yourself trying to accomplish this, but maybe one other activity of something couldn't hurt. Again, the key here is not to kill yourself with extracurriculars and thus potentially hurt your grades.

As for the weighted vs unweighted - it depends on the college. Some prefer weighted, some prefer unweighted. Some high schools don't weight their grades, so colleges sometimes like to use your unweighted GPA to compare to everyone more equally.

One, you are a sophmore in high school give it some time. Two you sound extremely arrogant on your ACT and GPA projections.
To answer your question, most college will only look at the weighted but it varies as mentioned above.
