Evaluate my chances please

Hi!

I'll be finishing 12th grade in Latvia next May. I'm a U.S. citizen and speak fluent American English, yet I have never lived in a native English country and take all my courses in Latvian, which is my native language. I want to go to college in the U.S. to study Film & Television production, so my top choices are:

University of Southern California

New York University

Syracuse University

University of Texas

I have taken the SAT and the ACT already, and will take the SAT once more in October. Here are my scores:

SAT 1810:
Writing 600
Maths 580
Critical Reading 630

ACT 27:
English 32
Maths 24
Science 24
Reading 25
Writing 8

I've also taken part in two local professional film productions, have had experience editing and filming, a great portfolio and quality sample material, got 3rd place in the country for my high school research thesis on westerns and won the national English Speaking Union public speaking competition in English, and taken part in the world finals in London, as well as 3rd place in national olympiad in my native language and literature. As for school grades, we receive scores 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) in each subject, my average score (all subjects) in the 11th grade being 9.25/10 - I really have no idea how to convert this into any kind of a GPA.

What do you think my chances are? Financial aid is sort of a big deal for me. Any special tips or recommendations? I'd really appreciate any advice if you have some. Thanks a lot!

You have very good qualifications. I would say that USC and NYU are a medium reach for you. I think you will get into Syracuse with no problem although they are raising their standards a lot. Now, the University of Texas is tough. You have all of the credentials to enter the university but the only thing is that the University of Texas system is the most in-state selective system being that only about 1% of their students are not from Texas. That means that anyone who wants entry from out-of-state into UT will have to be a genius. I would definitely consider heading to ■■■■■■■■■■, fill out a profile and it’ll match you up and basically tell you whether or not your will get in. It is fairly accurate. Hope that helps!
