Evaluating transcripts from four year college

So I transfered from a csu(attended 1 year) to a cc last fall. Iam starting my UC application process for next fall.
My concern is going over the unit cap.

So the question is:
Who can I talk to or contact to find out which CSU classes would transfer over to UC, to figure out my total number of units.?
(My cc counselor evaluated my transcripts and only 3 classes transferred to cc, but UC's could differ in their evaluation. how do I find out which csu classes will they accept?)

Thanks.

This gets tricky, because the evaluations are done on a case-by-case basis to determine whether or not the criteria matches the similar course at the school to which you’re applying. With CCs it’s easy, but not with CSUs. There’s no blanket answer for CSU courses. And actually, some UCs will take them while others won’t, so you’re going to need to contact the individual campuses to which you’re applying and have them review those classes.

Thanks! I guess I’ll also look at the Uc catalog, compare my csu classes and try to figure out how many units I have, even though it wont be accurate.
It’s just that its hard to get hold of a UC counsellor and try to explain this complicated situation over the phone. lol

Thanks for the help :)

For sure

And I hope you don’t have over 20 semester/30 quarter units from your CSU…

see thats the problem. I took 15 units my first semester and 15 units my second semester. But I took some really random classes which I am pretty sure will not transfer to a UC. I am planning to go to the UCLA TAP conference. Hopefully I’ll be able to ask a counsellor there.

Yeah you’re going to want to get that figured out ASAP. You really don’t want to get stuck as a transfer from a CSU (which is what you’ll be if you have more than 20 semester units from there) because then you’re at the back of the line.

Got it! I am going to e-mail a counsellor ASAP. lol
