Has anyone participated in this medical shadow program, and if so, what were the impressions?

By now I’m sure it’s a little late to answer this question. I participated in the program summer 2007. I have nothing but positive things to say about this program. It’s simply amazing if you’re thinking about going into medicine. It gives you a pretty good idea of how the hospital environment is. It’s really a privelege to participate in the program; to be a high school student and to see all the things you do, is simply awesome! I remember seeing surgeries, deliveries, etc (the list is endless). The experience is definitely what you make of it, but regardless it will be helpful in deciding whether medicine is for you. I was thinking about going into nursing and after doing the program I definitely knew it was something I wanted to go into to. I am currently a junior BSN student, and I know that I owe a great deal to the gene black program. To anyone thinking of applying for it, DO IT, you will not regret the experience!!

I applied it this year. And I am to become familiar with hospital environment if I get in
