<p>I think they'll just reduce the admit percent for us SCEA candidates, and reject some more as well cos i read somewhere that they reject 50% of their SCEA applicants</p>

<p>well, since SCEA isn't binding, but with Stanford's prestige, 88% early people matriculated, while only 50something% RDs matriculated (the majority of them opted for HYP in the end). They know they'll have a high yield rate with the early crop. In total they accept 2600 people I believe. It's the same thing with other SCEA schools like Yale and ED schools like Penn and Columbia, where the "magic" 48% of the freshman class were earlies.</p>
<p>I did some math the other day: while early applicants compose 20% of their entire applicant pool, they make up about 33% of the total acceptances.</p>
