Ever feel like you NEED to be good at this one thing?

I have

I am great at english and want to be an author

But by majoring in english I am neglecting any sort of Mathematics related field

I feel like if I'm seperated from Mathematics or Science then I'm some sort of idiot or something

I got decent grades in Pre cal and Physics, So i feel like if I don't continue these fields I'll be an idiot.

You ane me are very alike!
How in the world have I never met you before? lolz

I love english. If I could take an english course in college, and then just write some prose and poetry, I would be a happy person.

I’m okay in math, I could be better. I also feel that if I left it forever I would be an idiot. shrugs
Writers need to be wll rounded people. We carry a world of people within ourselves, keep that in mind.

You’re right, absolutely right.

Wow, we are alike haha

And sometimes I feel like I’ve wasted time in the past by not sharpening my skills

But then I remember that authors like Leo Tolstoy didn’t even start until their mid 20s

I’m like you guys. except I’m a math girl. But I love writing.

I think (IMO) that if a person has been writing since age 7, seriously writing then no one can catch up to their skill by the time they are teens, or in their 20’s.

So it’s better to start as soon as you find out that you have been gifted with writing.

At times I feel as if I could be working on a new book, getting published in a new place. You know what I mean?

Yeah, I always feel like I’m wasting my math skills by going into a liberal arts field. I mean, I know my math potential is pretty good and that there are more jobs for math students out there. I just cannot see myself doing it for a living.

lolz same here.

I want a job that I’ll be forced to leave when my hours are finished, for me that is journalism. Sign me up for CNN, and I’ll never leave.

i think cnn journalism is a little boring, tbh. No offense, but if I were going into journalism, I would find cnn a little too neutral for my tastes. Biased news are much more fun to cover imho.

It’s your thought. I can agree with a difference in beliefs.

I love CNN for the reasons you stated, well the biased part.

Sometimes I think that if I wanted to, I could have gone to MIT, like my cousin did. But who cares? You don’t need to be good at an exact something, just enjoy your passion and thrive on it.

I agree!! :)

People always yell out Harvard!!! But why go to a school and do a major you hate?

We need happy people like you on the CC FB group.
You should join.

@black rose
Well that’s not necessarily true IMO
F scott fitzgerald didn’t really write that much and his work was poor quality until the 1940s

And now he’s better than 98% of the writers out there haha

I need to research his life then.
That is rare.

I didn’t know there was a facebook page!

@Black
And Leo Tolstoy didn’t start writing till he was 23

And charles dickens at Age 17

woah, you people with your facts lolz.

That is still not the majority. But I get what you’re saying.

I don’t know exactly what I want to be good at, but I know I want to be REALLY good at something in my life. Hopefully my career.
