So, being the genius :) I am, I decided to convince the math department to let me skip Computer Programming 1 and go straight into Programming 2.

I've never taken or learned programming (I did learn a little Java for kicks, but not C++, the language that the class is in.)

So now I find myself 3 days into the semester, learning programming at lightning speed to catch up to the rest of the students.

This is the most fun I've had in years. Taking a class that I have no background knowledge in at the "advanced" level... it's nice to be challenged in school.

I did something similar with AP Java. We needed an "introduction class," which I never took. It's not too difficult though.

However, our computer league has put up quite a fight (though I think I'm winning). Topics like Bit String Flicking and Boolean Algebra need to be learned from scratch (sort of), and it's takes some getting used to.

I'm in the same boat as you. Next year I'll be taking AP Computer Science and don't have a clue about Java or anything. Basically the only thing I know semi-related to that is how to make/edit layouts for myspace, lol.

mcvcm92- I'm so sorry to hear that, that class sucked! My teacher was a real insert vulgarity here Worst class of my life! I seriously still have nightmares. And just when I thought I got rid of her, she screws me over still and I'm not even in her class anymore!

never, well it's going to happen next year, i'm going to take AP Calc/Stat and i haven't take Pre Calc. My dad probably has to pay for tutoring since my grades are lowest in math
