Ever take a test, think you aced it, and then fail?

Well maybe you guys have...but this is the first time I've failed a test since a 1st grade Phonics test LOL.

It was an AP Stats test on Probability (not the elementary school probability..). I didn't really study for the test because I thought I pretty much understood everything and I normally just study the 5 minutes before the teacher passes the test out. I was also pretty confident because I'm the only kid in my class with an A (a 95..). So I take the test and I breeze through it in about 15 minutes, I recheck all my work and turn it in (like 20 minutes before everyone else too..). About 5 minutes after the test I realized I may have messed up on two problems at the end, so I calculated my grade if I did miss those 2 and it was about an 89, no big deal.

So we got the test grade today...and I got a 45% LOL, tied for the worst grade in the class with the girl that has the worst grade in the class lol... I really have no idea how I messed up lol. We get to see the test tomorrow so I'll get to see how I missed more than half the questions rofl. The only good news is that after the 45 I still have a 92.7% in the class. This sucks, now I'm actually gonna have to study for Stats until I get my grade back up =[

lol there's my little rant/waste of time that I should be doing hw in...

** LOL I just reread this and I probably look like such a nerd for saying "so I calculated my grade if I did miss those 2" hahaha. Does anyone else do this lol?

I took the AP Euro test last year. I'd studied for months and went in sure I knew it all. I finished with an hour left thinking I had at least a 3. I got a 1!!!! After all the effort and my three awesome essays, I got a 1. I flat out failed!!! And yeah, I do calculate my grade before and after I get my papers back, ALL of them.

Ussually I'm more pessimistic, that what actually happens. I do go through the whole grade calculating thing, for best and worst scenario, and for what I think actually happened. I also calculate the worst possible grade I can get on a test, and still have an A in the class. Is neurotic

^ haha I did that last year for finals in some classes I had borderline A's on.

I hate when that happens...alot.lol

yep, i always calculate my grades.

Eh, the only test I ever bombed I knew I was gonna bomb as soon as I turned it in

On the AP US History test. I worked so hard. =/ And yet I got a 2. History's sooo not my thing. I can only pass language or literature tests.

I thought I got 10/10 on my calculus quiz but ended up getting 3/10 because of super super silly errors. However on the bright side, I thought I failed the test, but ended up getting a 93.

Always calculate them if I have time. I feel stupid for doing it though, I should check my answers lol.

But yes, many times I have thought I did well and then bombed it. Particularly in English

haha yeah towards the end of the semester with finals looming, i'll always check what i need to get on the final to get that 93.00% :)

Yea. one physics test i thought i got a 100 on cause it was so easy, then i got an 80 on it

I get it back today and see why exactly, i was seriously like wftfds

ahh the dreaded stats.... At least you still have an A! The same thing happenned w/ me last year. I turned in my precalc test 30 minutes before everyone else did and I was so confident that I got an A. The next day, I just walk into the room and the teacher screams "______, you bombed the test!!!" and I was so confused. I ended up getting a D on the test and when I looked at it every single mistake on the paper was a stupid mistake!!!! I couldn't believe it....

If I had a penny for every time I had that happen, I'd be a millionaire.

And I I had a penny for every time I thought I failed but did really well, I'd be a billionaire.

To OP:

I think you forgot to put the calculator in degree mode. ;)

j/k

Yes, once. It was trig identities which I flat out owned. Finished the test 30 min early. But for some reason I made a bunch of stupid errors... got a C on that test. Ack.

Happens a lot in pre-calc. Our nice teacher allows retakes, though.

Eh. This happened to day, except not terribly. I thought I got at least a 90 on my chem test, and got an 82. Not horrible, but it will bring my average to under a 100. Sulks

Biology test.
i thought i aced it, but got a 69.

we never appreciate the other times, which actaully happens more often to me. I thnk I got like a B or worse and end up getting an A like hihgest grade in class or something

blah I'm total opposite...I'm that sad type-"I KNOW I JUST FAILED THAT OMG OMG OMG!" and then "I CANT GET THIS BACK! NOOOO!"
