Hi everyone, I'm interested in attending the Evergreen State College and the Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Washington University. I've heard a lot about both schools and I've visited both of them, but I was wondering if anyone here on CC have any personal experiences to share about each of the schools? Also, I'm wondering if it was easy or hard to get into either of these colleges. Your feedback would be great!

I personally don’t know much about either college. But Evergreen is given a very honorable mention in the Colleges that Change Lives book. It sounds really good, but no idea academically about it. I do know its a really small school and a LAC.

I don’t know about WWU, although I’ve heard good things, but my son attends Evergreen and my step-D graduated from there many years ago. They both really love(d) it. Although it has a reputation of being easy to get into, it’s demanding once you get there. My son loves his courses and his teachers. The size is good, too - neither too big nor too small. I like the fact that freshman and sophomores take one interdisciplinary course per quarter - it makes it much easier to focus, while still varied and interesting.
