every bit of help is welcome =)

since i hijacked someones thread, i thought i would ask this Q in one of my own..:D

i graduated from an international high school....i was alright in high school but not the "best"..i really want to go to stanford but am also worried i might not get in...i have a great GPA and im thinking of doing 2 yrs at my college and then applying for transfer..do i have a better chance if i complete my 2 yrs with a good balance of required classes..?? i mean will they stil give my high school transcripts more importance or is my college classes that will determine my chances of getting in ??

Have you already applied to Stanford?

If you haven't, apply as a freshman. You might get in.

Transfer admission is more difficult than freshman admission. You will have to have a 4.0, more or less, to have a good chance at getting into Stanford as a transfer student. At that point, college grades will matter more but high school stuff will also be taken into consideration.

And if you didn't apply as a freshman, that will show less overall interest in the school.
