Everyone applying to Cornell should read this...

So that you can chance me.

I am applying to CAS, specifically AEM, this year and was wondering what shot I have for early decision acceptance.

I'm ranked 118 out of 636, putting me in the top 18th percentile. This is due to me transferring from a school in New Hampshire that offered no honors classes ( so on a 4.0 scale) to an IB school where everyone takes IB courses (5.0 scale) which means my freshman year wasn't accurately calculated.
IB Diploma Candidate, in the hardest classes my school offers.
I have a 3.78 unweighted GPA
34 ACT score
SAT II's: 780 Math 2, 760 Physics, 780 US History
Work Experience: I have worked as a lifeguard for the past three summers, and work as a waiter during the year.
Volunteering: I am a volunteer firefighter for my city and spend on average 10 hours every week, year round participating in that.
I also volunteer at an after school reading program for elementary school kids in at-risk neighborhoods for 2 hours a week, three months out of the year.
Extracurriculars:
Varsity Lacrosse (Captain)
Young Republicans (President)
Film Club (President)
National Honor Society (Member)
Warriors A school spirit club
Racquetball Club (President/Founder)

I will have two excellent teacher recommendations.

I can't comment on my essays because I haven't written them yet

I am not an URM or a first generation college student.

So how do my chances look?

Apply. You have a decent shot. Are you good at lacrosse? As in good enough to play D1?

Can’t you just make the topic : (( chance me for cornell )) !!
I thought there is something important for us who will be applying to cornell .
Gd luck anyway , I won’t chance you .

XFD. You shouldn’t even apply since you don’t know that AEM is in CALS.

In all seriousness, you’re more than competitive enough to apply. I think your essays and recommendations will be important in showing distinctness to the adcoms. Applying ED will definitely help you, but be sure to indicate that you’re applying to AEM on the supplement.

Should I list all of these extracurricular, or do they seem to varying? I don’t want it to seem like I’m just part of a bunch of random clubs. All of them mean a lot to me so I would hate to omit one, but if it seems like the wise thing to do, please let me know

I’m not good enough to play D1, plus I am not interested in playing in college

Answer me swine

List 'em, swine!

I already did, check the start of the thread.

Since you tricked me (a fellow applicant) into opening this thread, thinking it might actually contain useful information, I’ll just respond saying you have no chance and shouldn’t waste your application fee.

Good deal?

Oh, and I would list all your ec’s (as long as they fit on the CA)

Well, I don’t care about the title since I’m not applying to Cornell anyways.

In all honesty I think you’ll get in easily.

NH represent! :D

i am also applying to dyson ED and do not have nearly the grades or score that you do but have business oriented EC’s but i am sure you will be fine

how about i save you the trouble kiddo…don’t apply…first off AEM is in CALS NOT CAS…second of all who ever said you were competitive really has no clue of what he or she is talking about…you do have high SAT’S AND GPA…but thats it…who have nothing that says you are interested in business …the acceptance rate is 11 percent for AEM…and the people who apply have credible ( BUSINESS) EC’s.

you have stats of someone eligible to apply as a CAS applicant…

Based off your stats in your other posts, jasonbourne, you don’t sound like the type of person that would have any credible knowledge about a school like Cornell. UT San Antonio perhaps, but not Cornell.

nsb4103, I’m pretty sure Jasonbourne doesn’t even go to Cornell, but he posts like he’s judge dredd.

nsb4103,right …says the guy who thinks AEM is in CAS

how about this…i’ll bet you all of my internet pride that there is no way in hell you will get in cornell AEM…maybe CAS or any other ivy league…( you have impressive academic stats and you are the captain of your lacrosse team ) but nothing in your parent post does it give anyone the slightest bit of hint that you are interested in business, maybe being a redneck conservative, yes…but not business.
and the fact that you ridicule a fellow commentator just goes to prove that you are an ignorant little prick. nothing i said anywhere projected anything negative about your academics and yet you go all the way into striping a commentator of his online dignity…cold **** mate…

@deadhead654…dame right darling… i know i don’t go to cornell, maybe that might just be one of the reasons i am on this site…really not the most ideal place to pick up chicks
