So a few people have asked throughout the past couple of weeks for acceptees to post stats or asked for chances.

My take on everything, after having been on this forum way too much since about the time I applied ED until … well, now… is that (as you probably already know) admissions @ penn or any other ivy league is a crapshoot. This is nothing new. admissions people can delete/burn half of your applications and i’m almost positive there would still be a pool of people equally qualified-- at least academically … so don’t base on stats alone. penn wants personality. show that you’re different from the other ten thousand and some applicants, whether it’s through your awards, ECs, or essays. everything is pretty subjective, so try to stand out, show your passion for penn, hope for the best, and realize that if you don’t get in your world won’t end. not only that, but that you are, by no means, a terrible, unintelligent person just because you didn’t get in. penn just can’t take everyone.

on that note, here’s the URL to our RD decisions thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=46693&highlight=decisions

and here is the ED one:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=14923&highlight=deferred

ED last year:

then if you have too much time you can search for individual users’ posts with more complete stats (if they did post one) … if that interests you

as you’ll see, statistics aren’t everything.
do well on those essays and good luck.

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER. really.
