I believe you’ve asked the same questions in all those threads.

There’s only so much that we can help. You’ll have to do some research by yourself too.

I have done my research , but then i have no idea about universities in the UK… I really have no idea .
I Know i have recently posted a lot of threads . but i have not found any advice on my list … only 1 person has given me some direct and good advice tht is - 100%Tuna …

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/737122-last-one-i-promise-all-you-please-help-me-out.html

i have done a lot of research and have made a list of universities :-

U.S. :-
1)Case Western
2)Virginia Tech
3)Georgia Tech
4)Drexel
5)Purdue
6)UMichigan
7)UIUC
8)MSU
9)MIT - I wont be able to sleep if i dont apply here …

OK …all I want is advice on :-
1)My college list
2)Universities in the UK and Australia …

I AM SORRY PEOPLE … BUT I AM IN A VERY DESPERATE SITUATION … AS THE APPLICATIONS ARE OUT … PLEASE PEOPLE … BEAR with me

u have to elaborate more on your activities and awards. it is the first step for ppl to be able to tell you what you want to hear.

Ok … E.C’s

1)Worked with an IT distribution company called FDC international… It is one of the very good IT distribution companies in Asia. I have worked there for the past 4 years … mostly helping them with a few software fixes around the office, filing etc . Sales promoter during the GITEX Technology week form the past 4 years .

2)School Soccer team … i am in the starting 11 players. … our team suks … s we have hardy any (NO) achievements as a team

3)I am a sky diver … certified course taken in Malaysia

4)I have traveled a lot - UK , Canada , France, Spain , Almost all the states in India , turkey , Singapore and Malaysia

5)Baby sitting - young cousins and a few others… and had a day care kind of a thing going on … 9 hours a week for 2 months for the past 4 years.

bump … bump

If you have no limit in terms of money, the best advice we can give you is to hire a qualified professional that you can torture…get advice from about all these colleges.

If you have money, you will definitely get into someplace in any of the continents you mentioned. All the US universities you listed are good choices. Also check out USC. WashU may be a reach but worth a try. Northeastern U (Boston) and UMass are also places to look into.

*drool…

Umm … dunno how much we can help. Just apply to all, you’ll get into some. That’s the deal. And yes, you will be able to sleep if you don’t apply to MIT. Give it a try, it may be fun after all. Apart from that, try applying to the lower ranked colleges, they want Indian richie riches filling their coffers to sponsor Umreekun kids. Try the LACs. Just try some college below 35-40 and you’ll get in. But then again, with your kind of attitude and awesomely hollow resume, maybe you won’t. All the best. Baby-sitting really doesn’t take you anywhere far these days.

And think about donating some of your limitless money to some kids in Africa, or the slum near your house. They need it more than you do. Definitely.

LOL @spamming everyone’s profile with visitor messages and posting multiple threads.
You seriously need help… Maybe a lil time to reflect. Had you put in the time you’re wasting annoying CC users in productive RL work, you might have build a much stronger resume. I’d strongly suggest you take a professional counselor for your work. You’re the type they usually look for. If you really are that stinking rich, might as well use it :D

But seriously though, have some confidence in your own research.

dude! don’t you spam my inbox or whatever now! i’m seriously SICK of your threads. we’ve given you advice. asking 3498938485 times won’t make us say- hey! this guy’s asked us 3498938484 times and i think THIS time he’ll make it to harvard or MIT or whatever else! i’m doing this one last, final time, yes?

let’s see…

your stats :-

Grade 9 - not really amazing- pretty bad actually.

Grade 10 [ CBSE Board Exam ] - killer. i’ll say this. i know NO ONE (personally) applying/who applied to the US (to the better colleges) with that kinda board marks.

Grade 11: you’d probably reject yourself at your own college with those marks.

Grade 12 - you better start reading those textbooks instead of spamming this place.

SAT 1 - 2030
nothing amazing, really. doesn’t make you look good. not too much of a negative effect either. again. 700 for an indian (yes, i’m stereotyping- but based on the fact that we usually do well on the SAT math) for math is weird. try raising that. and the others too- if you can.

ECs…

1) for some reason, i smell fish here. so one of the “very good companies in asia” hired an 8th grader eh? hmm… or is this your dad’s company?

2)School Soccer team: acceptable- though i wouldn’t try to mention how “lame” your team is. you’re a sales person apparently (from your first EC). you should know this much.

3)I am a sky diver: and i’m the king of egypt. o_O how long was this “course”?

4)I have traveled a lot: traveling just doesn’t mean spending a few lakhs just going on a SOTC tour… it’s what you make of it. if you did community service or whatever in all those countries- i’d be impressed… if you actually homestayed in each of them- and tried to learn the local language or whatever else- highlight that in your essay. colleges like people who’re well traveled not because their passport looks colourful with all those visas- rather cuz most of them get a new perspective from where they’ve been/lived. your travels seem to be more… umm… SOTCish.

5)Baby sitting - this won’t really get you too far. no, seriously.

1)Case Western: match
2)Virginia Tech: match
3)Georgia Tech: high match (as in… more difficult than match)
4)Drexel: match
5)Purdue: high match
6)UMichigan: very high reach
7)UIUC: reach
8)MSU: match
9)MIT - lol. (i hope you’re referring to manipal. still lol.)
MIT might actually just keep you… cuz your app’s definitely gonna be amusing for them. (they need diversity, you see… and you would definitely add to diversity among all those straight-A-kids)

UK:
forget imperial, lse, cambridge and oxford. others- if you apply through the standard way- UCAS and everything. the top few (manchester, UCL, kings, warwick) ain’t happening. however, i HAVE heard of people who pay their way into the 4 i mentioned. it’s through “dealers”/“education consultants” or whatever. so yeah… considering you’re rich as balls… you could try out for that.

australia:
same as UK (replace oxbridge and oxbridge-leaguers) with UNSW, ANU etc.

I AM SORRY PEOPLE … BUT I AM IN A VERY DESPERATE SITUATION … AS THE APPLICATIONS ARE OUT … PLEASE PEOPLE … BEAR with me <------ how does THAT make you desperate? there’s still like 6 months before you need to submit your apps. and there are like so many applicants all over the world who don’t even KNOW CC exists- and they still make it to top colleges. so help yourself. CCers def. help… but saying that “hey… this is the ***** i got myself into in the last 4 years… now send me to college” isn’t going to work for you.

hope this is the very last thread.

(you seriously make me sick) (and now i don’t like brownies anymore! PFFT!) :@

i sound too harsh?? yay me! :)

Calm down…since you’re paying the full amount you’re gonna be in demand…I know a few guys who got into respectable places with scores and extracurriculars similar to yours…needless to say they had an edge over the guys who asked for financial aid…just apply to places which are need aware (eg. drop MIT and apply to Cornell)…and when you get the results…don’t be surprised at how many you’ve been accepted at…best of luck…
And I almost forgot…if you ever spam me again…

all of you … I am really sorry … and 100%Tuna … thanks for the advice ad for being so frank about things … I have made my final list and i am working towards the applications

Thanks a lot

US :-
1)MSU
2)Case Western
3)Ga Tech
4)UIUC
5)Drexel
6)UMichigan
7)MIT , Cornell or Stanford (I need some advice on this 1 … its like shooting i the dark :P)

Australia
1)UMelb
2)USydney

UK
1)Warwick
2)Southampton
3)Bath
4)Imperial College London
5)Liverpool or Newcastle

Thanks again … and sorry for the trouble

lol at MIT.

WanToBeABrownie - You need to stop posting multiple threads asking the same questions. If you ask calmly and politely people will be more likely to try and help you. Also, sending individual people unsolicited messages or visitor posts is just going to annoy them. Don’t do it.

That said, your stats are FINE. You have a major advantage over many of us as you have the financial backing to go to college in the US. Just make sure your application is sorted and write decent essays and you’re in somewhere.

Now. Cease. Please.

Play nice, children ;)

I have been as polite as possible … All i have got on most of the threads was … We donot know the grading system for India .

All i ask is for help .

P.S.- I am not trying to be a Showoff by telling my financial status @adrivit

and I admit that i am not that great or even a good student … with a good resume … That is y … I am worried and a bit scarred … so thanks for all the encouragement …

Thank you all

themerlion:lol at your previous post.
