Everyone is crazy about barrons...

If I get a barrons prep book for biology, how much should i study to get an 800. If you got an 800, can you please explain how you studied exactly? A couple of hours a day...or like non stop???

I'm not crazy about barron's. I tried, I really tried to cozy up to that boring, awful book but I couldn't. It makes biology sound awful and dull. Its great for those that are willing to persevere and get that 750+, but my brain went dead.

"It makes biology sound awful and dull."

Are you saying it isn't?

I've heard Barron's is good for math, though.

^^LOL, no biology is interesting and informative when done right. Like it is in Kaplan and PR prep books and Campbell's Bio textbook.

o,after reading so many posts, I am going crazy as wellll!!!!!!!!!!

which one should I buy????

Bio is not an interesting subject (not for me anyway), but reading the Barron's book is really helpful, I scored a 780 with it.

barrons sucks bad.

I studied it really hard and maybe one question that wasn't in the usual test prep books (like Kaplan) appeared on the test. I wouldn't recommend it...it teaches far too much.

BARRONS SUCKS BALLS

seriously. it has wayyyyyyy too much information that you dont need to know for the test. i'd go with something less-hardcore like princeton review. princeton review actually has space where you can take notes and it has BIG PICTURES, which i like. if you think princeton review's too easy, try KAPLAN, because it is a good mix of big pictures and enough information.

dont buy barrons

well if you're planning on studying biology in college, barron's would help you in the long run.

what about the AP study books? Aren't those comprehensive enough for SAT IIs without being as boring as Barrons?

i think that would be a waste of time, because AP and SAT focus on different topics.
