<p>All of the Cornell applicants at my high school (5) were waitlisted. Is this normal?</p>
<p>Hmmm.... it's a case by case thing. I don't think it's anything against your school.</p>

<p>Anyways, I think the waitlist thing is so they could lower their acceptance rate and up the yield?</p>
<p>i think that with such an increase in applications for this year, they might not know what to expect for the yield ratio. Waitlisting people gives them a nice buffer zone in case of a lower than expected yield ratio.</p>

<p>im ranked numner 1 out of 275 (long island)and have sats of 2240 and i was waitlisted at ecology...extracurriculars -amazing...cornell must have had an amazing applicant pool this year</p>
<p>man, admissions is quite random. I'm pretty sure I don't match up to you with stats, yet I can sort of understand since the number 2/352 person in my class was also waitlisted at cornell. I dunno, maybe they're just flipping coins for some ppl.</p>
