i can't stop thinking about nyu!! i feel like i'm gonna die as i'm opening the admissions letter AHHH!! like i'm seriously losing sleep over this. I'M JUST SO ANXIOUS. anyone else?

ME TOO!!! I thought I was the only one. I’ve been stalking every NYU related online thing hoping that they would send out admissions decisions early.

you are not alone! I am pretty anxious right now, too. Applied stern ED. Do we get an acceptance/rejecting letter through the mail, or do we get it through email?

I want to say we get it through mail. Does anyone know if NYU sends the big packets out with acceptance letters and the little ones for rejections, or does eveyone get little ones?

yeah ive been flipping out about NYU and Michigan also. Cause if i get LSPed at NYU and into Mich (very possible actually), I might turn down NYU but I’ll find out about NYU first - and NYU is free but Mich is EA so i can apply to all my reaches above UMich… very convoluted and all. I’m freaking out about it

I feel the same! I’m trying not to think about it (i.e. instead of counting down the days till it becomes “Mid December” I’ve been counting down the days till some cds or new shows on tv start) but really its completely consuming my mind. I’ve been stalking all of my friends on facebook who already go there. November needs to be over now. And I really really hope they don’t do the little/big envelope thing or i’ll freak out if I get a little one.

Does anyone know if they send financial aid info at the same time? they must, right?? that would make sense…

I am not terribly nervous… I don’t believe that where I go to college will define me OR the rest of my life… so yes acceptance to NYU would be like the icing on a cake but I don’t feel it would (to go with the simile) change the cake.

Basically I don’t think you guys should be so nervous because either way you be great!

does that make sense?

If I get the small letter that will just ruin christmas for me :(

Okay so I’m applying to NYU as a transfer for next fall and I was wondering if you guys had the same questions on the common app as the transfers, about writing a poem, a famous new yorker, and two others, if so whatd you guys write on??

yes: poem, movie, new Yorker, attracted to specific major/ college (or something similar) and activities of summer 09

Yeah all the same, I’m having trouble condensing it to 500 characters, did you use all the characters?

Actually when I was at Tisch over the summer they said that they still notify by mail, and not through email. Rumor has it that if you are accepted its a big white envelope with a purple folder in the package, containing your acceptance letter and all financial aid information. So what is it? 25 days left? until this marvelous letter ‘hopefully’ comes flooding our postal services. But it is a small letter I would think if the applicant was denied.

ahh but I also think the LSP letters come in small envelopes so don’t have a total panic attack if you get a small one. It isn’t necessarily what you think it is.

@rcwhite

if you don’t use the common app, but embark instead - you get 600 characters. True Story.

I got a large envelope with the folder inside when I was accepted for transfer. Once you open it, it’s pretty obvious you got in, because it says CONGRATULATIONS! on the front.

I think I saw the large envelope in the mailbox and started screaming.

I do not think that I am going to get in… I have lower test scores than everyone else…
But, I the rest of my application is spectacular… Idk…

thanks, Kochls! deep down, i know that’s true but (to go with your simile) i muuuch rather have nyu’s icing than another school’s icing
and i also totalllyyy understand what nostalgic is saying. i kinda wish we didn’t find out so close to christmas because if i don’t get in i’m just gonna freak out and ruin my christmas and everyone else’s. BUT HOPEFULLY we willll get in and it’ll be a wonderful christmas! and i’m sure that will be the case.

Got an LSP admit today and it came in a big envelope with the acceptance letter, a fold-out f.a.q. and a glossy mag. I think small = bad this year. Good luck all!

GRATS hitmenow! glad we know what the acceptance looks like now! best of luck to the rest of us!

hitmenow, mind sharing your stats and such?
