Everyone who is applying ED..POST HERE.

Who ever is applying ED to Columbia post your stats, comments, or what you think the process will be like this year.

I might but I'm not sure. I think I'm going to need more time for my SATs. I think I am going to apply regular which is going to be even more difficult. Life sucks.

Bump...................

I would apply ED Barnard but I really don't know a whole lot about their financial aid (i.e. is it seperate from Columbia's?) Sorry about posting a Bnard post in the Columbia board but they are a shared consortium sort of thing and the Bnard board = dead.

yes hello i probably will. I'm an internat'l student who finds this whole process a little overwhelming/foreign/complicated, so i have no idea what process will be like this yr :P

I know that I'm going to apply ED to Columbia, but I'm not sure if I'm going to apply to SEAS or Columbia College. Being a New Yorker is probabley going to hurt my chances, but who knows, maybe I'll get accepted.

Barnard financial aid is separate from Columbia's, but they do meet all need for domestic students. (despite the consortium thing, finances are all separate). Of course, how they end up figuring your need can differ from the FAFSA.

Heh, I would have answered you on the Barnard board, but it didn't come up when I searched for "Barnard."

metsfan what are your stats? sat/gpa/ecs

I am going ED columbia college for sure.

my stats? okay.
SAT I: math:800, writing: 740, reading comprehension: 740
SAT II: math 2c: 800, chemistry: 690 (re-taking asap)
GPA: 100 ( I guess it would be a 4.0 unweighted, and I have no idea what it would be weighted, but I'm the school's valedictorian if that means anything for gpa.
ES's: a few that are pretty good and a few that aren't. my school is really small, so they don't have any clubs or anything, and any extra credit I did, I did on my own.
AP's: again, since my school is so small, they don't offer any AP classes, but I convinced a few teachers to make extra classes for me (I'll be taking calculus at lunch this year, and chem and spanish at other times).

are you applying SEAS?

I think so, but I'm not positively sure. I like SEAS, but I don't have any extracurriculars that have anything to do with engineering.

I'm debating applying ed. or ea to harvard but its a crapshoot

It's between Columbia and Duke for me. I'm leaning towards Columbia at the moment.

Same here. Duke or Columbia - what a dilemma.

columbia ED all the way, hey!

I'm thinking ED at Columbia College. Woohoo!

if im a legacy and apply ed to columbia do i have a better shot at that or say ed to duke which may be slightly less competitive?

Many people with legacies don't get in. It depends on your stats, ecs, and essay .......Being a legacy will def. help your chances though..

what's the point of this thread?
