Everyone who took or is taking the SAT should read this

I know of these numbers already. I’m interested in the numbers from the study.

Oh okay. Sorry :D.

Are you sure about that? Just checked Collegeboard’s data for the HS class of '09…The math gap is 35 points in favor of males, whereas the reading gap is 5 points, also in favor of males. Also interesting was that the female/male ratio of test-takers is 8/7, though I’m not sure what sort of a role that may have in determining the statistics…

Yeah… No.
http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat_percentile_ranks_composite_cr_m_w.pdf

There’s still a pretty significant disparity in the number of males/females (favoring males) scoring in the 2300+ range despite the fact that more females take the test.

Sorry, I should have clarified that these closed-gap data are not from SAT/ACT. They are from standardized tests hitting kids now in middle school and early high school. They should show up on ACT/SAT in a few years.

That accounts for the fact that males are inherently more intelligent than females. Hence, this is the reason why 95% of scientific discoveries are made by men.

Please don’t attack me, as I’m only stating a fact regarding the general human population. :O

it basically comes down to swagger.

“with true swagger you dont need any assitance to win”

^^^^^Exhibit A

With true swagger you don’t even need to be able to speak coherently

Huh? I’m not attacking you, rest assured…but are you basing the first sentence on your second sentence, or merely supplementing your first with your second lol?

It’s interesting, also, with the female/math thing. I personally feel a surge of pride/confidence/arrogance when stating my gender on math contests and tend to do better. It’s as if I have something to prove wrong and stand out with as opposed to be shadowed in. :)

hmmm. for what its worth, I preform better under pressure. I took a practice SAT the night before my first real SAT and got a 1900. The next morning I went in and scored a 2100. (but i was robbed, i screwed up 5 math problems, just filling in the answers wrong, so lets say it was 2210  )

And women are actually equally as smart as men. AND in school, they develop faster than boys, so they are even smarter.

Then what accounts for the fact that most influential inventions and scientific discoveries are made by men (by most I mean <95%). Also, despite the relatively fewer boys who take the SAT, why are there more 2400 male scorers? In addition, why do women make 78 cents for every dollar men make? Sorry but numbers do not lie.

While I’m not a particularly PC person… this is just astoundingly stupid. What, did your elementary school not teach you anything about the history of gender discrimination yet? Not to mention that girls have consistently done better in schools in the last 2-3 decades in the US.
