<p>The present is predicated on the past, not the future. Therefore, things will not happen for the reason of causing something in the future to occur.</p>
<p>Also, chaos theory only applies to non-sentient objects. My choice to have an apple strudel for breakfast this morning was not predetermined by the sum of events in my life, but rather by a random whim.</p>
