Alright, so let's say I have the GPA/class rank, the grades, the extra curriculars, the recs, a killer essay and so on. BUT my standardized test scores are medicore. Since I'm in the Midwest, I chose the ACT, and my projected score is probably going to be a 30-31. Can I still get into a good college? Not necessarily Ivy, but still in the top 20 national universities? Thanks in advance!

30 is good enough if you have everything else in order.

Of course you can! 30-31 is a damn good ACT score. To give an example--my friend got a 31 and is going to Northwestern in the fall.

thanks for the encouragement guys. I appreciate it. I just CAN'T wait until next year when this whole process is OVER for good...haha until college.
